Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in NewcastleUnderLyme to assist with the appointment of a Environmental Protection Team manager on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 44.24 55.94 per Hour

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Environmental Protection Team Manager to lead the daytoday operations of the Councils Environmental Protection Team. Youll manage statutory services ensure highquality service delivery and help develop strategic initiatives within the Regulatory Services Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Environmental Protection Team.
  • Oversee statutory functions including; statutory nuisance investigation Pollution and air quality control Clean Air Act and Private Water Supplies regulation Planning and Licensing consultations Contaminated land and related duties.
  • Drive performance and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Represent the Council in meetings legal proceedings and stakeholder engagements.
  • Manage budgets staffing reporting and compliance processes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health or related subject.
  • Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) membership or EHRB registration.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Experience Required:

  • Extensive experience in managing Environmental Protection or similar regulatory services.
  • Demonstrated leadership in performance management and service improvement.
  • Strong partnership stakeholder and team engagement experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering environmental strategies.

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to work out of hours and participate in an emergency standby service when required.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly across council locations.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
