We are looking for the Technical Solution Sales Engineer to join our team in Ashburn VA.

Position Description:

As the Technical Solution Sales Engineer you will review project tender documents gather proposals drawings and specifications prepare project quotations and provide technical direction. Youll create budgets manage costs and ensure compliance with HSE policies. Strong analytical and communication skills proven technical estimating aptitude and the ability to manage multiple projects while remaining organized and strategic are essential for success in this role. You will collaborate closely with other departments to understand customer needs; design tailored solutions and provide technical support throughout the sales and implementation process.

Qualifications

Position Responsibilities:

As our Technical Solution Sales Engineer youll be responsible for:

  • Act as a technical advisor and point of contact for clients providing indepth knowledge of our solutions.
  • Reviewing project tender documents gathering proposals drawings specifications and related documents
  • Identifying labor needs and material requirements by studying related documents
  • Preparing project quotations to agreed standards in professional format
  • Ensuring project tender return times are achieved
  • Documenting and recording all inquiries ensuring the sales pipeline is maintained and up to date
  • Exercising technical direction for products and technical areas of expertise
  • Providing support on technical features to personnel assigned to project delivery
  • Creating budgets BOMs managing costs small project management tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with Health Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Liaising with clients consultants designers and suppliers as required
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external teams in the Data Center market
  • Aligning with a highperformance culture which requires personal accountability and commitment to results
  • Collect and analyzeclient feedback to identify areas for product improvement and enhancements.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the product development team to drive product evolution.

Requirements:

  • The candidate will require a technical preferably electrical or controls background.
  • Bachelors Degree Electrical Engineering Controls and Automation Engineering Energy Engineering or any related engineering field (e.g. Controls Building Services Automation) or fully qualified electrician with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years Engineering Sales / Estimating Experience an advantage.
  • Have excellent communication skills both oral and written including presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills including a proven ability to develop strong natural and lasting connections with customers from first contact.
  • Customer focused with the objective of identifying and meeting customer needs proactively and always to the highest Company quality and ISO standards.
  • Strong computer skills including experience of using spreadsheets and databases including SAP (CRM) compiling/issuing reports as/when requested by management.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail demonstrated by experience of completion of tasks to a high standard.
  • Good organizational skills demonstrated by organizing and prioritizing workload reaching previous sales targets and completing tasks to tight deadlines.
  • A good team player but capable of working independently proactive and shows initiative in the role.

Relevant Experience Considerations:

  • Familiar with energy management and monitoring systems.
  • Familiar with building management and automation systems.
  • Familiar with field instrumentation (e.g. temperature pressure flow transducers).
  • Familiar with switchgear systems must have an understanding of single line diagrams electrical mechanical and civil drawings.
  • Familiar with control panels structure (programmable logic controllers (PLC) humanmachine interfaces (HMI) industrial PCs (IPCs) and other control system components.
  • Be able to pull together a cable schedule and equipment list based on tender drawing packs.
  • Be able to create a bill of materials for control panels and create a customer quotation.
