About the role

CPBS is seeking a highly experienced Positive Behaviour Support professional for the role ofComplex Case Behaviour Support Specialist. As a Complex Case Behaviour Support Specialist youll report to the Regional Clinical Manager for Tasmania. Our work is based on the principles of MultiElement Behaviour Support (MEBS) and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in the home community and school/workplace settings. Providing interventions to participants with particularly challenging and complex needs with be at the heart of your role. Youll conduct assessments and develop and implement behavioural support plans and programmes. Youll also assist the Regional Clinical Manager with leadership and specialist training support as required.

What youll do

  • Make positive and distinct changes to the lives of others by developing and maintaining relationships
  • Complete both introductory and advanced IABA training in MEBS gaining expertise in its implementation
  • Provide direct and indirect MEBS interventions for clients with complex needs.
  • Conduct Functional Analysis Assessments and develop Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Lead organisational behaviour management and continuous quality improvement initiatives for mediators.
  • Apply evidencebased behavioural research to guide interventions and program design.
  • Train and support colleagues caregivers and support workers on clinical techniques.
  • Provide leadership by assisting the Regional Clinical Manager.
  • Collaborate with professionals (doctors psychiatrists speech and occupational therapists) to create and implement personalised goals and checklists.
  • Facilitate MEBS trainingin the CPBS Training Academy when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements for accurate and timely report writing and documentation.


Skills And Experiences

What youll need

  • Possess or be in the process of completing a Masters levelpost graduate qualificationinPositive Behaviour Support Applied Behaviour Analysis or similar
  • Hold an NDIS Practitioner ID endorsed atan Advanced level or above plusNDIS Workers Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Strongexperienceproviding Positive Behaviour Support services with complex case participants
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical expertise leadership and training to a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Willingness to undergo training and develop expertise in MEBS
  • Ability to prepare and finalise technical reports in a timely manner using highlevel verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills managing multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
