QUALIFICATIONS:*Appropriate DESE license and endorsement as required by the applicable SSEC program or*Waiver eligible (possession of a bachelors degree). *Must be able and willing to physically manage and/or lift students.Preferred: *Experience working with students in a school setting with academic behavioral and/or emotional challenges learning or developmental disabilities or autism preferred. *Eligible for 7D licensure (training provided) RESPONSIBILITIES:*Demonstrate common teaching competencies as defined by the Department of Education.*Evaluate each students skills and develop an IEP with the team based upon results and experience.*Use instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for implementing goals and objectives of students IEP.*Design and implement appropriate behavioral programs for students when necessary.*Coordinate all classroom activities and develop an organized classroom schedule.*Develop a positive classroom environment that meets diverse students needs..*Consistently implement instructional methods and develop maturity and skill level of students.*Ensure that curriculum frameworks set forth by Collaborative and DOE are met and integrated into the students IEP.*Coordinate with all support specialists (OTPT Speech Therapists Adaptive PE Assistive Technology Team) to provide a comprehensive service delivery program for each child.*Develop appropriate assessment and alternative strategies to assess accomplishments of students on a regular basis; provide written reports and other reports as needed.*Maintain regular contact with students Home and Community based teams. *Assist students with activities of daily living*Collaborate with student teams to develop inclusion opportunities within the community. *Initiate and participate in educationally relevant field trips with appropriate supervision of students. *Drive school vans as needed.7D drivers license required training available)*Physically manage and/or lift students when necessary.*Participate in all required inservice training *Assist the Program Director in the intake of a student referral and the transition of a student from the program.*Follow all policies and procedures as established by the South Shore Educational Collaborative *Use deescalation and physical management procedures as prescribed in SSECapproved Welle training program as needed and appropriate.*Maintain confidentiality regarding information for all SSEC staff students and their families.*Direct daily activities of paraprofessionals assigned to their classroom.*Serve as a contributing evaluator of other classroom staff as needed. *Perform other duties as assigned by the program director/coordinator.Mandatory participation in all of the following SSECsponsored training to include but not limited to:1. Successful completion of SSECapproved Welle training full and/or recertification annually as appropriate.2. Maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.3.
