Job Description

Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Kubernetes Engineer (DevSecOps) to support our Huntsville AL location (remote opportunities available but must be in commuting distance to PeopleTec Corporate).

We specialize in full stack development Cloud DevSecOps Cybersecurity Artificial Intelligence (AI) Business Intelligence (BI) Data Science and Machine Learning (ML) related initiatives both in the federal and commercial space. We are currently seeking a Kubernetes Engineer (DevSecOps) to support our Huntsville AL location.

The Kubernetes Engineer (DevSecOps) is responsible for Kubernetes application deployment administration and lifecycle management. This role will work extensively with Helm Kustomize and other Kubernetes tooling to ensure applications are deployed efficiently and securely. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and securing Kubernetes clusters in multicloud environments (Azure and AWS) and will implement DevSecOps best practices across the software development lifecycle.

Duties:

  • Design implement and manage cloudnative solutions across Azure and AWS.
  • Deploy and maintain Kubernetes applications using Helm Kustomize and GitOps methodologies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing network security configurations within cloud environments.
  • Support the implementation of DoDapproved enterprise authentication in Azure leveraging security protocols and best practices.
  • Implement and manage RoleBased Access Control (RBAC) for multiplatform products in Azure and AWS ensuring security and compliance.
  • Maintain Kubernetes cluster operations including monitoring scaling and security hardening.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation ensuring adherence to NIST SP 80053 and NIST SP 800171 standards.
  • Improve and support CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines for cloudnative applications.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment of cloud and DevSecOps strategies with business objectives.
  • Work with opensource software to maintain an agnostic approach to cloudnative deployments.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • IAT II certification.
  • 5 years of experience in infrastructure/network engineeringrelated work with at least 3 years working in Azure or AWS cloud environments with a proven track record of designing and managing cloud solutions.
  • Experience working in and applying STIG and other server hardening settings in a cloud environment ensuring high security and compliance.
  • Cloud service/vendor certifications from Azure (e.g. Azure Administrator Associate AWS Solutions Architect Associate AWS SysOps Administrator Associate).
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes administration Helm Kustomize and GitOps workflows.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems including configurations and optimizations.
  • Experience implementing enterprise authentication and RoleBased Access Control (RBAC) in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying cloudnative applications through SDLC processes and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Proficient in using Terraform to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
  • Competent working with multiple CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab Ansible Azure DevOps).
  • Experience using Ansible for server and workstation configuration management in largescale environments.
  • Strong networking background with knowledge of BGP CDN IP subnetting network security groups routing Palo Alto firewall configurations load balancing DNS etc.
  • Experience working with opensource tools to maintain a cloudagnostic deployment approach.
  • Travel: Less than 15.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. If required there may be a requirement to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in network engineering computer science cybersecurity or a related field.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with DoD cloud environments including compliance and security requirements. AF FENCES experience strongly desired.
  • Experience with AWS & Azure including crosscloud integrations and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Experience with Dell APEX or HPE Greenlake.
  • Ability to work with clients to gather and translate project requirements into technical solutions.
  • Any number of the following certifications: CISSP CCSP CKS KCSA CKA CKAD KCNA CCO.
