The Planning Offsets and Threatened Species and Ecosystems (POTSE) Division is seeking aPrincipal Communications Officer to drive a coordinated and approach to communications and engagement planning and delivery for the Planning Offsets and Threatened Species (POTSE) division. This role will also assist with developing managing implementing and monitoring marketing and communications strategies advice and products across relevant programs and stakeholder audiences as well as leading specific stakeholder projects.
About You
You will be a proficient in being able to provide thoughtleadership and collaboration partnering with colleagues stakeholders and customers providing exceptional customer service delivery.
Demonstrated experience in advising and influencing senior internal stakeholders. You will be able to develop and deliver customercentric portfolio communications and engagement strategies to support implementation of the POTSE initiatives and programs and the Governments reform directions for threatened species conservation and the Biodiversity Offset Scheme. You will have a passion for customer service and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify and leverage multiagency and partnership marketing and communications activities to achieve strategic objectives. You will also have an ability to understand and apply departmental and government policies and processes.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the states natural environment. It manages the NSW national park estate including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.
DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state to support the environment communities and industry.
We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
Participation in the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme (BOS) & the Biodiversity Conservation Trusts (BCT) Private Land Conservation (PLC) Programs
All new employees with an existing defined interest in the BOS will be required to disclose their personal (or a close family members) participation to ensure potential conflicts are managed appropriately. In some circumstances this may require divestment of the interest.
The BCT also has restrictions on staff participation in its funded PLC programs. No additional funding beyond that already agreed to by the BCT may be sought or approved during time as a BCT employee or for a 12month period following termination of employment.
