Job Description
LSU Health New Orleans is actively recruiting a Clinical Geneticist at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to become part of an emerging NCI Designated Cancer Center for the state of Louisiana which has some of the highest incidence mortality disparities and social vulnerabilities in the country. Academic rank and track will be consistent with candidate experience. The LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center which has been identified as the top priority of the President of LSU is based in New Orleans Louisiana and capitalizes on the vast resources of LSU community engagement across the state partnerships with LCMC Health hospitals and LCRC research institutions. The Clinical Geneticist will be actively involved in teaching research evaluating and caring for patients with underlying genetic conditions. Primary duties for the Clinical Geneticist will include providing cutting edge cancer clinical genetics services and leading a successful research program in cancer genetics. The incumbent will lead a successful clinical practice limited to cancer genetics including participating in the LCMC highrisk cancer clinic. Additionally the Clinical Geneticist will lead a successful research program on such topics as highthroughput screening assessing and improving genomic panels and making new advancements in the field of cancer genetics genomics or genetic risk evaluation.
