The Legislation Liaison Unit (LLU) performs a critical role facilitating the departments legislation program. The LLU is comprised of nonlawyers and provides specialist advice and procedural support to ensure legislative instruments and bills progress efficiently through Parliament and the Federal Executive Council (ExCo) in accordance with established process requirements outlined in the Legislation Handbook.
The LLU is structured in three specialist teams and successful candidates may be placed in any of the following:
As an EL1 Senior Liaison Officer you will lead a team within the LLU and work closely with senior stakeholders and policy areas to ensure legislative processes are followed. This role requires strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills and understanding of legislative and parliamentary processes.
