SUMMARY: Creates a developmentally appropriate prekindergarten program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth while making sure an effective rapport is established with students families staff members and outside community agencies. Motivates students to develop skills attitudes and the knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary school success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must provide documentation of the following requirements:
A teachercaregiver is 18 years of age or older and provides the licensee with documentation ofoneof the following:
a. Six months of child care experience
i.AND A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma;OR ii.At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university including at least six credit hours in early childhood child development or a closelyrelated field.
OR
b. Associate or bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood
child development or a closelyrelated field;OR N.A.C. C.D.A. or C.C.P. credential.

Positions in this class typically require: reaching standing walking fingering grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for Light work.
Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed in an indoor school environment although outside work is sometimes required.
