Job Description
Grain Valley teachers are expected to provide instruction that meets the district goals mission and benchmarks; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interest of the students. All candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to their own ongoing professional growth.
Qualified candidates must possess an appropriate Bachelors degree and certification in the state of Missouri. Coaching and organization sponsor opportunities are available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans for and guides the learning process to help students achieve educational objectives
- Selects and utilizes effective and appropriate instructional strategies
- Establishes a cooperative relationship with all students
- Works collaboratively with school personnel to achieve the goals outlined in the building improvement plan
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; students achievements; developing methods for improvement
- Administers subject specific assessments district and/or state tests for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning
- Analyzes assessment data for the purposes of providing intervention and enrichment opportunities
- Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and productive learning environment
- Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of jobrelated knowledge and skill development
- Maintains regular and dependable attendance
