Job Description

Job Title: Head Boys Basketball Coach

Department: Athletic/Classroom Teacher

Reports To: Building Principal & Athletic Director

Teaching Field: To be determined

Length of Contract: 230 days

FLSA: Exempt

Job Summary:

The High School Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and developing the boys basketball program while promoting academic success teamwork and sportsmanship. This position requires strong leadership coaching expertise and the ability to foster positive relationships with studentathletes staff and the community.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct practices develop game strategies and oversee all aspects of the basketball program.

Foster a competitive disciplined and positive team culture that emphasizes skill development and character building.

Ensure player safety and adhere to school conference and AAA regulations.

Monitor studentathlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.

Manage program logistics including scheduling budget fundraising and equipment needs.

Assist studentathletes with the college recruiting process.

Maintain effective communication with players parents administration and the community.

Encourage and support multisport athletes coordinating with other coaches to ensure balanced participation.

Effectively manage and develop assistant coaches to ensure program consistency and growth.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in education or related field (preferred).

Valid Arkansas teaching license.

High school or collegiate coaching experience (preferred).

Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.

Commitment to strength and conditioning as a key component of player development.

Ability to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Proficient with the use of Hudl.
