The Basic Sciences Shared Administration serves the departments of Biochemistry & Physiology Cell Biology and Microbiology & Immunology. The BSA Grants Team currently manages 150 active grants in addition to providing preaward support for their assigned faculty members. We are looking for a knowledgeable individual who is great with people and can provide a high quality of service.

Duties:

  • Responsible for supervision oversight and administrative guidance for proposal submission agreement negotiation and oversight of compliance with sponsor federal and state regulations University policies.
  • Oversees all aspects of outgoing subawards to include knowledge of subrecipient monitoring process.
  • Hires trains supervises and evaluates preaward staff and ensures staff members remain knowledgeable of changes in federal state and University guidelines policies procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge of federal state institutional and sponsor guidelines including but not limited to 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) FARS/DFARS.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the Director of PostAward Office of Research Services.
  • Oversees manages and delivers leadership in ensuring compliance in the areas of proposal development and award negotiation.
  • Coordinates with other University departments including but not limited to the Office of Technology Development Office of Export Control and Office of Legal Counsel as necessary about acceptable award terms and conditions.
  • Manages the daytoday operations of the Office of Research Services (ORS) preaward team.
  • Drafts negotiates and executes legal and business terms for research related agreements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education: Bachelors DegreeAND:

  • 60 months experience with pre and post award research.

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of BS Degree for a total of 108 months of experience

Skills:

  • Advanced excel skills with ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets
  • Financial or accounting experience to include analysis auditing and budgeting
  • Ability to speak read and write clear concise English
  • Advanced computer skills with wide knowledge of business software
  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives
  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations
  • Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
  • Must be able to create and deliver effective training presentations
  • Must have advanced/proficient writing skills for composing audits reports and advisories

Certifications:

  • Preferred: Certified Research AdministratorCRA
