THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and .PEng. required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steel bridge construction and design along with demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Engineering Standards.
- Ability to optimize designs and product costs to help win projects against competitors
- Familiar with structural design software and drawing tools (ie AutoCAD Solidworks SAP and similar) ability to adapt to new software packages
- Knowledge of applicable design codes
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to create alternative and innovative solutions to problems
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept to completion ensuring all deliverables meet quality budget and schedule requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions are developed and implemented.
- Utilize tools and software to perform structural analysis and simulations.
- Develop and review detailed engineering drawings specifications and technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Address and resolve technical issues that arise during project .
- Mentor and guide junior engineers providing technical support and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Review and approve design documents calculations and project deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on structural engineering matters.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Produce technical reports and memos to support design.
