Job Description

Details:

L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as a Manufacturing Engineer. Responsibilities will include:
  • Conduct all work in a safe manner
  • For NPI programs with input from design and test engineers determine all needed assembly and test fixtures (create fixture list).
  • Design draw have manufactured inspect and validate manufacturing assembly and test fixtures.
  • For NPI programs coordinate with planner/buyer design & test engineers on fixture jobs/POs priority and schedule.
  • Develop new and improve existing manufacturing assembly and test processes and cells.
  • Create new and revise existing routers driven by ECOs process improvements etc.
  • Update jobs based on NCMRs ECOs/EOs redlines etc.
  • Create jobs to make fixtures or development parts.
  • Review and approve ECOs for new and changes to existing drawings documents etc.
  • Review provide feedback and offer alternatives regarding NPI drawings for correctness manufacturability standardization best practices and lessons learned.
  • Build development and LRIP assemblies.
  • Create new and revise existing assembly procedures work instructions part protection procedures standards etc.
  • Determine and implement part protection and handling processes to reduce damage and rework.
  • Provide all needed support for final packaging E.G. process materials documentation etc.
  • Prepare ECOs for new and changes to fixture drawings weld simulation drawings standards etc.
  • Lead or support the identification and removal of waste from manufacturing assembly and test processes.
  • Lead or support cross functional teams.
  • Lead or support structured problem solving / root cause corrective actions to address systemic quality problems.
  • Lead or support capital expense efforts.


Details:

  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or the technical equivalent.
  • 2 years of manufacturing engineering or relevant experience.
  • Experience with fixture design.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing tools.
  • Proficient in the use of SolidWorks.
  • Solid project management communication and cross functional team leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced medium sized company.
  • Results oriented and ability to motivate team members.
