The Service Technician must be able to perform job duties of an installer in a communications and industrial environment. Have a general understanding of the DC Power industry as it relates to three primary markets (Telecom UPS and Utility).
This position requires frequent travel on a regular basis including overnight trips mostly during the week.
Job Requirements
Work will include installation of batteries and rectifier battery plants (all voltages); ironwork and cable rack with knowledge of Zone 4 environment requirements; DC power plant upgrades and replacements; Primary and Secondary distribution equipment including PBDs BDFBs BDCBBs inverters and converters; along with the running of power cable lug crimping and lacing; taking voltage and gravity readings; and all other duties associated with the installation and maintenance of DC power.
AC power work from 120V 1phase to 480V 3phase. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain openandpositivecommunication (bothinverbalandwritten form) withemployeesdepartmentsandcustomers.
Workwellinateamenvironmentaswellasindependentlyandbeaselfstarter. Willingto travelbetweenofficesservice locationsandcustomersites.
MinimumPhysicalandSensoryRequirements:
- Strength to Iift a 50 lb. object without assistance and items weighing up to 150 lb. with assistance. Strength to slide up to 200 lb
- Strength and dexterity to bend squat crawl kneel crouch or twist to reach/and or work with assigned systems.
- Strength mobility and dexterity to use small hand and power tools as necessary and to climb or crawl to install equipment in areas of close tolerance.
- Abilitytoclimbandworkonladdersgantriesandcatwalks.
DOT Medical Qualification Card required.
