Education Support Specialist (French Skills a Plus) Immediate Start with Leadership Potential
Are you passionate about helping students succeed Do you have strong organizational skills and enjoy working with kids Oxford Learning Lawrence Plaza is looking for a dedicated EducationCoordinatorto join our team. If you can converse in French and have a solid grasp of French grammar thats a big advantagesome of our students are Frenchspeaking though the role primarily focuses on English. This position offers handson experience a supportive team and a clear path to grow into a leadership role as the centre expands.
About the Role
Join us inperson at our Lawrence Plaza location to support students from preschool to postsecondary. Youll work closely with the Education Director to create a positive learning environment while developing your teaching and leadership skills. This parttime role requires1520hours per week with a consistent schedule and potential for additional hours based on your availability and centre needs.
What Youll Do:
- Support students in their learning with a primary focus on English.
- Converse in French with a small group of Frenchspeaking students and assess their French skills.
- Use your French grammar knowledge to enhance student programs when needed.
- Guide parents through our programs and answer their questions.
- Organize schedules for students staff and teachers.
- Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents.
- Create a fun energetic atmosphere while adapting to the needs of students and staff.
- Learn and apply Oxford Learnings teaching philosophy with opportunities to coach others as you grow.
What Were Looking For:
- Education: Minimum university degree (credits in Education Languages or Social Sciences a plus).
- Language Skills: Strong English proficiency (oral and written). Ability to converse in French and a good grasp of French grammar are highly valued (full fluency not required). Additional languages are a bonus.
- Experience: Background in education or working with students (group settings preferred). Experience with Oxford Learning or similar programs is a plus.
- Skills: Selfstarter attitude excellent communication and a passion for helping kids learn. Strong computer skills (Google online tools) and customer service experience are assets.
- Other: Ability to commute to Lawrence Plaza Toronto and pass a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
