REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent
NOTE: This is a grant funded position.
DEFINITION: Under general direction responsible for researching writing and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for educational programs initiatives and projects within the school district. This role requires a strong understanding of grant processes effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders. Achieves defined objectives by planning evaluating developing implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; providing information and serving as a resource to others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other administrators school site personnel parents outside agencies outside evaluators community members Superintendent etc. for the purpose of securing funding to maintain and enhance services and/or programs; implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
Coordinates and manages program components support needs and materials (e.g. school or district level project planning teams activities with outside agencies implementation of awarded competitive grants assessment and data gathering work of outside consultants implementation of all programs researching short term projects etc. for the purpose of ensuring program objectives are achieved within established guidelines resources are effectively utilized and ensuring compliance with district and funder guidelines.
Develops grant applications and related documents (e.g. required reports budgets specific inquiries etc. for the purpose of submitting to the appropriate funding agency.
Develops forms processes procedures and policies (e.g. procedures for grant proposals boilerplate information using district demographics/ programs/ and success etc. for the purpose of implementing a consistent grant application methodology.
Evaluates degree of match between listed grant priority area and system needs for the purpose of matching needs with funding sources.
Facilitates meetings workshops seminars etc. (e.g. school or district level planning team meetings actions involving outside agencies professional development opportunities for administrators teachers and financial procedures etc. for the purpose of identifying issues developing recommendations supporting other staff and serving as a District representative.
Monitors proposals and funding application requirements (e.g. presentation needs such as number of copies and binding content delivery method and labeling deadlines eligibility for grant etc. for the purpose of utilizing time and resources to maximize successful awarding of grant funds.
Monitors budget allocations expenditures fund balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring compliance with approved grant budgets and all federal state and local regulations.
Observes subject area teachers and coordinator/teacher at each site for the purpose of evaluating the implementation of instructional.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Prepares and maintains a wide variety of often complex materials (e.g. comprehensive federal/state/ and private competitive grant applications assessment reports student activities files on past and present grants correspondence internal audits articulation meetings notes observation notes plans budgets funding requests reports analyses recommendations procedures etc. for the purpose of documenting activities and issues meeting compliance requirements providing audit references and making presentations.
Presents a variety of topics (e.g. funding requests grant applications awarded grants identifying underfunded services overviews of programs and services grants etc. for the purpose of conveying information gaining the required administrative and Governing Board approvals providing progress reports to administration and funding sources and/or advising other staff of potential funding sources and promoting programs.
Researches topics required to manage assignments (e.g. competitive grant opportunities relevant policies new federal and state statutes staffing requirements financial resources etc. for the purpose of developing additional funding resources for current and proposed programs/services ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements securing general information and/or responding to requests.
Serves as liaison to school principals staff patrons and parents for the purpose of providing direction monitoring performance providing professional growth and achieving overall program/grant and district objectives.
Visits each site on a consistent schedule throughout the academic year for the purpose of meeting with site teams and administrators to facilitate progress towards goals and overall program objectives.
Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines laws and regulations governing education.
Knowledge of the proposal amendment and budget process required for the programs.
Knowledge of educational funding sources and grant regulations.
Knowledge of managing awarded grants including tracking deadlines reporting requirements and budget compliance.
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
Skill in public speaking and presenting.
Skill in gathering statistical data and developing reports.
Skill in effective oral and written communication.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
Ability to work with and collaborate with many adults both within the school district and outside the school district
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to keep abreast of changes in grant policies funding opportunities and best practices in grant writing.
Strong fiscal management skills organizational skills and attention to detail.
REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.Work requires frequent standing walking bending lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds. May require travel for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Education Public Administration Communications or a related field (Masters preferred). Three 3 years of proven experience in grant writing and management preferably in an educational setting. IVP Fingerprint Clearance card required at hiring.
