DSHS BHA Behavior Management Team (BMT) Director
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for making a positive impact in the field of mental health We are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join theBehavioral Health Administration (BHA) at Eastern State Hospital (ESH) as the Behavior Management Team (BMT) Director.
As the BMT Director you will play a pivotal role in driving transformative change and providing essential support to patients and treatment teams. In this supervisory and managerial role youll spearhead the transformative work of the Behavior Management Teama diverse and skilled group of professionals dedicated to driving positive change in patient behaviors.At the core of your responsibilities lies the management and implementation of the BMT a multidisciplinary powerhouse that provides ward treatment teams crucial shortterm consultation. These teams are faced with the complex challenge of managing patients exhibiting high levels of challenging behaviorsbehaviors that have not responded adequately to their prescribed treatment plans.

This position is required to work onsite. Opportunities performed onsite at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5 premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some of what you will do
- Strategically directs plans develops and provides leadership and management for the multidisciplinary Behavior Management Team (BMT).
- Ensures completion of ward referral process triages referrals assigns BMT resources to respond to the request and schedules necessary meetings.
- Responds to referrals from leadership and work with the identified ward to address the concerns.
- Ensures that the BMTs consultation services align with ESH policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards.
- Collects and reports various data points.
Who should apply
Professionals with a doctoral degree in behavioral science (Psychology Counseling Social Work Education with a behavioral science core curriculum etc. and five years of experience working in a psychiatric facility or community behavioral health setting with patients exhibiting aggressive behaviors.
Or
A masters degree in behavioral science (Psychology Counseling Social Work Education with a behavioral science core curriculum etc. and nine years of experience working in a psychiatric facility or community behavioral health setting with patients exhibiting aggressive behaviors.
Or
A bachelors degree in behavioral science (Psychology Counseling Social Work Education with a behavioral science core curriculum etc. and eleven year of experience working in a psychiatric facility or community behavioral health setting with patients exhibiting aggressive behaviors.
AND
Three years of supervisory experience.
Preferred/desired education experience and competencies:- Ability to work as a multidisciplinary team leader with skills and abilities in resolving conflicts with a team in a calm not threatening manner.
- Exceptional communication skills when working with management peers patients and the public to carry out the assigned duties of the position.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and consistently delivers highquality results.
- Experience working with large multidisciplinary teams that work varying shifts and with psychiatric patients with challenging behaviors (aggressive/ive behavior frequent seclusion and restraint episodes and selfharm etc.
