About the Role:
PetroChem Wire (PCW) by OPIS a Dow Jones company provides price transparency across the petrochemical market through realtime news and pricing services and marketspecific benchmark pricing reports that enable our customers to make smarter more informed decisions. As a member of the PCW team you will work with our editors to collect and analyze trade data to provide daily assessments of the benchmarked US Olefins markets. You will write alerts and create content (i.e. data visualizations text messages) that is relevant to the petrochemical industry. You will report to the Journalism Director.

You Will:
- Be trained to cover the daily US olefins markets
- Gather spot market price transactions and market intelligence from industry participants by email instant messaging and by phone
- Verify the legitimacy of the transactions and adhere to OPIS pricing methodology when assessing daily benchmarked and nonbenchmarked prices
- Create breaking and feature news alerts relevant to the petrochemical markets
- Write commentary for the olefins report and edit colleagues work on a daily basis
- Contribute to social media content blog postings industry analysis and publish OPIS reports
- Network and foster relationships with sources resources and market participants
- Uphold follow and adhere to the OPIS compliance policy code of ethics and methodologies
You Have:
- At least 4 years journalism price assessing and/or active business experience in the petrochemical markets
- Experience with energy market data analysis pricing and reporting
- Pricing methodology creation experience
- Developed news and content creation strategies
- Managed hourly daily weekly monthly and annual publishing deadlines
- Experience with Google Suite Microsoft PowerBI Tableau Jupyter Notebook and Python (preferred)
- Bilingual English/Spanish language proficiency (preferred)
- Undergraduate degree in Energy Journalism English Finance Business Data Science or related area of study OR equivalent work experience
