Envision Education seeks a Director of STEM and Math to serve as a networklevel instructional leader who sets the longterm strategic vision for math and science instruction at Envision and ensures that all students are receiving a highquality Science Technology Engineering and Math education.

THE POSITION
The Director serves as a networklevel instructional leader who stewards the teaching and learning of math and the sciences at our schools in alignment with Envisions commitment to the pedagogies of inquirybased and projectbased learning.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Academics and is part of the organizations Program Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: PROGRAMMATIC LEADERSHIP
- Establish and uphold a vision of excellence for STEM learning and student achievement in math and science.
- Define and pursue ambitious measurable goals for student achievement in math and science with clear detailed plans for achieving those goals.
- Lead continuous improvement of math and science curriculum instruction and assessment based on gathering and analyzing student performance data across the network.
- Inspire students to pursue STEM in college and career especially black brown and firstgen collegegoing students.
- Ensure that science and math instruction exemplifies an inquirybased approach to learning and provides students with opportunities for projectbased learning.
- Determine an approach to drive educational equity in STEM and allocate resources and programs accordingly.
- Promote a strong academic culture focused on student outcomes.
- Refine the role of math and science artifacts as part of Envisions portfolio and defense process.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (PD)
- Design lead and support professional development for sitebased instructional leaders that aligns with Envisions math and science vision.
- Assess the impact of PD and continuously refine it based on performance data and emerging best practices.
- Collaborate with site leaders to create a coherent learning arc that connects STEM priorities to individualized instructional coaching.
- Develop and implement summer PD for STEM teachers.
- Model and contribute to Envisionwide practices and values in adult learning and collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
- Ensure all Envision students have access to highquality science and math curricula aligned to CCSS and NGSS STEM best practices and the Envision model.
- Lead the internalization and highquality implementation of curricula across the network.
- Maintain and strengthen Envisions bank of STEM performance tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ASSESSMENT
- Design and publish systemwide assessments aligned to STEM CCSS NGSS Californias AG requirements and the Envision model.
- Oversee and continuously improve Envisions interim assessments to gather meaningful formative data.
- Develop and implement systems for teachers to use data in their planning and instruction and for that data to be shared with students.
- In collaboration with the Program Team and other instructional leaders analyze STEM performance data and drive networkwide and classroomlevel action as a result.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- Establish and promulgate a vision for math and science learning that exemplifies Deeper Learning and the Envision model.
- Participate as a member of the networkwide leadership team.
- Share STEM best practices with Envision Learning Partners (Envisions consulting arm).
- Foster and facilitate collaboration within and across departments at Envision to build shared ownership of math and science priorities across the network and incorporate other organizational priorities into STEM strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree or higher in a related field required.
- Valid California Teaching Credential or out of state equivalent with ability to transfer required. (Clear California Teaching Credential Preferred)
- 5 years of direct experience as a grades 612 school administrator math instructional coach or a districtwide STEM leadership role with a track record of results in math and/or science required
- Experience in math and science instructional program design and implementation
- Experience designing and implementing data driven feedback and planning work
- Experience with leading a department and/or team (preferred)
- Deep knowledge of standards (e.g. NGSS Common Core etc. and effective instructional practices in secondary mathematics and science instruction

- An understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges of smaller charter networks and excels at leveraging limited resources to drive meaningful academic outcomes
- Ability to communicate clearly with key stakeholders including regarding the what why and how of instructional programming
- Ability to collect analyze present and interpret data to drive decisions
- Selfawareness and use of feedback to improve self and department
- Experience preparing and facilitating highquality engaging professional development
- Experience as an educator or working closely with teachers and school leaders
- Experience managing others is a plus
LOCATION
This position is onsite and requires weekly in person meetings and collaboration at our school sites in San Francisco Oakland and Hayward as well as our Support Office in Oakland.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a 12 month position. The salary range for this position is $. Salary and benefits are competitive and based on experience.
