Job Description
Astroboticis at the forefront of advancing space exploration and technology development. Our expertise spans from lunar rovers landers and infrastructure to spacecraft navigation machine vision and computing systems for inspace robotic applications. To date the company has been contracted for two lunar missions and has won more than 60 National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial technology contracts worth more than $600 million.
We recently launched and operated the first American lunar lander mission since the Apollo Program. Beyond helping lead America back to the Moon Astrobotic developed and operates reusable vertical takeoff vertical landing (VTVL) rockets and continues to advance nextgeneration VTVL capabilities and advanced rocket engines. Established in 2007 Astrobotic is headquartered in Pittsburgh PA with a propulsion and test campus in Mojave CA.
The Project Manager will be responsible for creating and executing on WBS schedule and budget of technology developments and lunar flight missions working closely with engineering leads and business office experts to track and manage progress. You will communicate with vendors manufacturers and subcontractors to create and manage their associated schedules budgets and statements of work; lead the creation of major internal design review documentation contribute to research and sales proposals implement the full product development cycle and regularly report to the Vice President for Space Programs. On occasion you will also contribute to and lead prime contractor and subcontractor agreements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Creating and coordinating technical schedules project budgets and resource planning for concurrent projects with staggered deliverables and reporting cycles
- Development and management of work breakdown structures project budgets integrated master schedule and project risk registers
- Monitoring schedule progress including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date. Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend workaround
- Collaborating with managers leads and engineers to ensure schedule cost and technical deliverables are completed on schedule with expected quality and that all stakeholders are kept informed
- Creating technical statements of work and contracts for vendors manufacturers and subcontractors and evaluating the performance of those contracts
- Creating appropriate reports and records to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements
- Assisting in the development and delivery of technical progress reports documentation and presentations (i.e. Monthly Project Reviews)
- Leading technical teams in the development of new technical products and services
- Support business development efforts for new project opportunities inclusive of reviewing technical proposals developing budgets with the team and compiling proposal content as required
- Maintaining the strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical field plus 5 years in a project management role leading technical projects in a fastpaced environment
- Demonstrated experience developing project budgets schedules and risks with multiple scheduling tools
- Demonstrated experience balancing resources across multiple projects as well as tracking scope schedule and budget
- Demonstrated experience developing presentations and project reports for stakeholder review
- Demonstrated experience working with engineering teams and ability to quickly establish close working relationships across teams
- Comfort with ambiguity and motivated to help solve complex problems
- Ability to work without supervision to lead the development of project plans and schedules for multiple projects concurrently
- Strong organizational multitasking and problemsolving skills
- Ability to motivate and influence others build effective interpersonal relationships and be able to foster and contribute to a positive and productive team environment
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience leading technical development of firstofakind products or services
- Project management experience in support of government customers
- Demonstrated direct handson experience with space system integration and testing
- Working within an agile development framework
- Experience using team collaboration tools (Confluence/Jira) to manage tasks and products

Salary
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance business objectives and the candidates professional experience. Base salary is just one component of Astrobotics competitive total rewards strategy.
