Responsibilities:
Must have at least 5 years experience in project management preferably within information services or the healthcare environment.
Consulting experience and knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies acceptable.
Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently with a variety of groups and levels within an organization
Proven ability to manage multiple levels of staff and projects in a matrix reporting environment
Proven experience managing multiple projects
Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals
At the project level responsible for assigning work to project team members providing guidance and direction and ensuring the timeliness and quality of work delivered by project team members
Knowledge of information systems technology products services and customers.
Strong PC skills including MS Word Excel PowerPoint and Visio
Experience developing and tracking system implementation projects using MS Project required
Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
Demonstrated commitment to delivery of high quality customer service and teamwork
Excellent written verbal and presentation skills
Strong leadership skills
Organized detail oriented
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Specialists primary focus will be to manage the North Shore Pathology Enterprise Project (PeP) Responsibilities will include:
Coordination of remaining PEP implementations at North Shore Medical Center with PHS PeP Enterprise PM Team.
Facilitation of project meetings including NSMC PEP Team Status NSMC Pep Steering Control Committee and PEP Operations Governance Committee
Tracking project timelines
Ongoing project and issue management
In addition to managing the NSMC PEP project the incumbent will collaborate with the NSMC PMO team to use established Project Management Toolsets. The toolsets will contain standardized tools and processes for project managers to apply across all NSMC IS projects related to:
Project Initiation Review and Prioritization
Definition of project scope and objectives
Workplan development and tracking
Budget planning and tracking
Status Reporting
Issue Management
Change Management
Documentation
Incumbent will work closely with both IS and Enterprise based project managers utilizing BTC/A resources as needed under the direction of the Team Lead to help them adopt and adhere to the Project Management Toolkits standardized tools and processes.
Incumbent will act as Subject Matter Expert for the Lab Sunquest application as assigned.
This position reports to the Team Lead II Application & Integration who reports Corporate Manager II Application & Integration.
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in business or systems field preferred by not required.Coordination of remaining PEP implementations at North Shore Medical Center with PHS PeP Enterprise PM Team.
