Senior Planning Obligations Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced officer with ambition and passion for supporting the delivery of crucial infrastructure to join our Planning team. You will be working with stakeholders across the County Council Leicestershire District Councils and beyond who are all involved in the calculation negotiation security and collection of financial and nonfinancial contributions from developers. Your role will be to support the current Planning Obligations Team and provide technical planning guidance and experience to support and enhance the current team and to help shape how developer contributions are managed.
On a daytoday basis you will manage a case load which spans one or more of the Leicestershire districts and will also contribute towards the management of complex sites of significant importance and when required will attend planning appeals to support the County Councils requests for developer contributions and how they accord with the relevant planning legislation.
As well as this your work will involve collaborating with stakeholders across the authority helping to provide data advice and assurance on the management of developer contributions that the authority has collected or will collect in the future (through s106 and other mechanisms including s278 and CIL where appropriate) including being the link to the County Councils Strategic Planning Team as part of the Local Plans process.
Therefore to apply for this role you will have significant experience in managing and responding to planning applications know how the Local Plan process works and have experience in attending planning appeals and justifying developer contributions against relevant local and national policy.
You will be working with people with different skills and from different backgrounds and therefore need to be engaging enthusiastic and innovative as well as be able to present yourself with confidence to internal and external colleagues of all levels. You should not be afraid to share ideas or to want to make things better.
