**Job Description: Teacher Assistant Maternity Leave Coverage****Position Overview:** We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teacher Assistant to support a substitute teacher during the classroom teachers maternity leave. The ideal candidate will assist with daytoday classroom activities ensure that students are engaged and supported in their learning and help maintain a positive productive classroom environment. This position will provide a valuable opportunity to work closely with students and educators during this transitional period.**Key Responsibilities:** Assist the substitute teacher in delivering lesson plans and classroom activities according to the established curriculum. Support students with various learning needs ensuring they are actively engaged and understanding the material. Help manage classroom behavior ensuring students adhere to school rules and policies. Provide oneonone or small group support to students who may need additional help with assignments or tasks. Monitor students during transitions breaks and lunch to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Maintain accurate records of student behavior progress and any other relevant classroom information. Assist with classroom setup and organization including distributing materials and preparing supplies. Provide support with classroom activities such as grading assignments facilitating group work or supervising independent work. Communicate effectively with the substitute teacher students and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom. Follow school policies and procedures including those related to safety and confidentiality.**Qualifications:** High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or higher preferred). Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff. Patience flexibility and a positive attitude in working with students. Ability to manage classroom behavior and provide guidance to students as needed. Ability to follow instructions and assist with lesson implementation. Dependable and punctual with the ability to adapt to changing situations.**Work Environment:** Temporary position to cover the classroom teachers maternity leave.
