About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Lead Water the Lead Hydrogeologist or Water Scientist (at EVR known as Lead Regional Water Monitoring) is responsible for planning supervising and implementing groundwater investigations to support mining operations and regional environmental performance and compliance.
To be successful we are looking for an individual with good leadership and communication skills strong analytical and decisionmaking abilities with a capacity for practical problemsolving. Strong multitasking teamwork and environmental project management experience skills are vital for success in this role. The successful candidate would also enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions as they perform a diverse range of field and office tasks.

In this role you will:

    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
    • Coordinate and supervise internal groups and external contractors and consultants in hydrological assessments and work programs including groundwater and surface water investigations and the interaction of mine pits and the environment
    • Ensure projects are being conducted in accordance with project scope and Health Environment Safety and Community (HESC) commitments
    • Integrate groundwater and surface water data in the development of conceptual site models
    • Lead field investigations data collection inspections and audits to inform management decisions
    • Provide technical review for hydrological reports permit applications and support implementation of water quality management and mitigation
    • Prepare and submit technical reports to meet regulatory and other commitments and present technical information to a variety of audiences
    • Support engagement and maintain relationships with government agencies Indigenous groups and other local communities of interest
    • Mentor train and provide technical direction to mine sites and other business units
    • Conduct analysis and quality assurance and quality control of data

Requirements:

    • Degree or diploma in Engineering or Science in environment hydrology hydrogeology or other related field
    • Minimum seven years experience in hydrogeology water quality monitoring groundwater studies or water management
    • Proficient in environmental data management analysis reporting and environmental databases such as EQuIS GIS or Surfer
    • Knowledge of relevant federal and provincial legislation standards and effective industry practices
    • Experience supervising consultants and contractors
    • Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
    • Experience in largescale groundwater investigations and monitoring programs is an asset
    • Knowledge in water and constituents load balance assessments groundwater modelling and water quality management is an asset
    • Registered designation or eligible to register for professional designation such as P.Geo or P.Eng is an asset
