Franklin University has multiple parttime student positions in the Learning Commons working up to 19 hours per week. These positions provide inperson services to our students staff and faculty during the Learning Commons open hours including evenings until 6 pm. Additionally applicants must be enrolled in Franklin University classes to apply for this position.
Learning Commons Student Assistants perform daily opening and closing procedures for Learning Commons assist customers with locating items and checking books in and out schedule meeting room reservations answer telephone questions and troubleshoot printer and copy machine problems. Additionally they help with the departments digitization needs and collection development projects as needed.
The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills innovative ideas and have demonstrated problemsolving skills. Effective oral and written communication skills are a key element of this role and working within a multitasked team environment is required. Must be proficient with the Internet and Microsoft Office with an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word.
The candidate must possess a strong customercentered philosophy and understand and agree with Franklins relationship management principles and University values.
