The Operations Manager provides highlevel operational and administrative leadership to advance Audubon Floridas strategic initiatives and conservation mission. Reporting to Floridas Senior Director of Finance the Operations Manager will serve as the main administrative support for Audubons Keys research station the Everglades Science Center (ESC). Responsibilities will include purchasing and maintaining an inventory of supplies maintaining financial records managing budgets and timely government grants reporting and invoicing. The Operations Manager will also support finance in contracting bid management contract management invoice processing and account tracking for Audubon Florida projects. The Operations Manager ensures efficient resource utilization maintains strong financial controls and creates systems that support ESCs research and Audubon Floridas conservation impact and communitybuilding goals.
This is a fulltime hybrid position which will primarily work from home but report to Audubons Miami office and ESC in Tavernier periodically. Successful candidates should live in MiamiDade Monroe or Broward counties.

$56949 to $65000 / year
Additional Job Description
Essential Functions
Communicate daily with ESC staff to ensure they are supplied with adequate resources for daily and efficient operations including functionality of vital field and office equipment (such as boats vehicles safety equipment and computer operations) while ensuring budget integrity and compliance with NAS policies and procedures.
Check on inventory supplies and equipment so that purchases can be ordered in a timely manner and obtain competitive pricing.
Maintain and ensure receipts for purchasing card activity are organized received and approved in a timely manner.
Ensure bills are paid on a timely basis. Check delivery quantities prices and process vendor invoices such that they are coded correctly in the accounts payable system to reflect the type of expense and the nature of the work.
Maintain an accurate inventory for ESCs fixed assets such as vehicles boats engines machinery and proper insurance coverage on all assets and ensure maintenance and replacement schedules are met.
Assist with advertising of open positions and onboarding of new/temporary employees for ESC.
Prepare and manage contracts in compliance with Audubon policy and work with center staff and vendors to negotiate appropriate scopes and fees for services.
Manage pre and post grant award process financial tracking for billing and other necessary tasks to meet overall grant compliance.
Monitor and track grant progress and budget alignment with financial spend down.
Manage and maintain detailed accounting records of grant files in accordance with Audubons policy
Ensure that grant applications/reports are properly submitted via email or through online government application sites as needed.
Routinely manage ESC budgeting.
Coordinate with the Finance Director to complete financial year end records in a timely manner.
Assist with contracting bid management permitting and account tracking for Audubon Florida projects including the capital facilities modernization at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary
Maintains and fosters culture of safety.
Other jobrelated duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree required.
5 years relevant professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered.
Experience working for nonprofit organizations highly desired.
Experience with budget and grant administration.
Ability to take initiative and maintain flexibility working both independently and collaboratively coordinating team efforts as necessary.
Strong Excel skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills a must
Attention to detail and welldeveloped organizational skills.

A valid drivers license and availability for occasional overnight travel.
