Job Description

Spring Girls on the Run After School Coaches
Extended Learning Department

POSITION SUMMARY:

EPS is seeking teachers to support Girls on the Run an after school
running club for girls and students of other marginalized gender identities in grades 35.
Coaches would participate in preprogram training in March 2025 and run activities 2x/week
from 2:454:15 using the Girls on the Run curriculum. They would also be responsible for
supervising participation in an end of season 5k race scheduled for May 31st. Coaches will also
be responsible for behavior management attendance tech assistance parent communication
student outreach and retention maintaining safe programming and supervising dismissal. Girls
on the Run will provide all curriculum materials and training.


WORKING TIMES:


2x/week 2:454:15 pm for 8 weeks starting April 1st and running until June 1st 2025.
One coach training session on EITHER March 12th 19th or 27th from 7:00pm 8:00pm


REMUNERATION: $40/hour worked.


NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 2 coaches per school located at Parlin Madeline English Keverian
and Lafayette


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Take regular attendance document weekly activities track student participation and
engage with families and students in order to ensure regular attendance of at least 8
students and up to 20 students per program day. This data will be shared with the
Extended Learning Department.
Support with technical needs facility access and communication with school day staff
Manage group behavior with Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies that motivate
students and limit disruptions
Incorporate Social Emotional Learning standards that promote selfconfidence
teambuilding and informed decision making
Utilize inclusive practices and strategies for students with disabilities English language
learners and other student groups
Support with recruitment of students and family outreach


REQUIREMENTS:


Current EPS teacher or paraprofessional


PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:


2 or more years of teaching experience in elementary and/or middle grades
Experience leading athletic programming in out of school time
Multilingual capacity
