Derby seeks a compassionate and collaborative fulltime Reading Interventionist to lead the support of our most vulnerable readers PreK through Grade 3 while working collaboratively with teachers and caregivers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience: Leading and facilitating literacy screenings three times per year Grades PreK through 3Making datadriven decisions to identify students who need targeted reading instruction or interventionProviding differentiated and targeted intervention for students with identified needsCollaborating with teachers to modify instruction within the classroom and helping cocreate differentiated student learning plansMonitoring the progress of identified studentsSelecting or designing intervention(s) that match the need(s) of each studentInterpreting neuropsychological and educational evaluationsUnderstanding students with diverse learning profilesDemonstrating a proven track record of closing gaps with struggling readersClearly communicating with caregivers in support of their childs learningCommitting to ongoing professional developmentEmbracing additional independent school faculty responsibilities as neededRequirementsIdeal Qualifications: Masters degree in Education with concentration in Reading Literacy or a related fieldMinimum of five years of teaching and/or intervention experience preferably with younger childrenCertification in methods such as Wilson or OrtonGillinghamExperience using a variety of reading assessments and screening toolsExperience with Heggerty Fundations UFLI or a comparable phonics curriculumStrong communication skills (written verbal and listening)Experience working collaboratively with a teamA competitive salary and benefits package includes generous funding of professional development.
