Description

The Carrier Procurement role is the operational support for our nationwide sales team. The role is responsible for booking and tracking truckload shipments. The role requires the ability to multitask problem solve and prioritize daily workload. Candidate must be able to overcome issues and resolve problems. Candidates must be comfortable on the phone and have great communication skills. Strong negotiating skills and the ability to develop relationships with carriers are a must. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks develop your logistics skills and collaborate with very talented people across our organization. Primary Responsibilities:

Utilize TMS system as well as web based load boards to book and track shipments of freight

Ability to multitask and get accurate updates to sales force

Negotiate rates with carriers

Maintain 15 margin on loads

Make minimum of 100 calls a day to book available loads

Training:

Candidate will shadow the Carrier Procurement Manager for several weeks along with handson training with observation until candidate is confident to work individually. Our other Carrier Procurement Reps will also help to answer questions as needed.

  • $40k Base Salary commissions

Physical Requirements:

Job functions require long periods of sitting and working from computer workstation; ability to multitask problem solve and prioritize daily workload; excellent organization and record keeping skills; comfortable with oral and written communications primarily on the telephone and email. Requires extended periods of sitting normal walking bending twisting and stretching. Capability of sight and hearing required. Ability to deal with stressful situations and occasionally working extended hours. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
