Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to lead and support all safetyrelated initiatives at our plant location. This individual will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety policies and proactively identifying and mitigating potential workplace hazards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a safety leader and advocate across the plant site.

  • Oversee and implement all plant safety activities ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and MWP policies.

  • Conduct regular plant safety walkthroughs site audits and inspections documenting findings and driving corrective actions.

  • Perform job site hazard analyses to evaluate risks and recommend safe work practices.

  • Lead or assist in incident investigations including nearmisses and property damage identifying root causes and recommending preventative measures.

  • Support injury management processes and assist in managing workers’ compensation cases.

  • Deliver sitespecific safety training programs (e.g. Forklift Safety Lockout/Tagout PPE Confined Space Entry).

  • Facilitate pretask planning for highrisk activities.

  • Maintain safety documentation inspection reports and training records.

  • Collaborate closely with plant leadership to promote a safetyfirst culture and ensure alignment with company safety objectives.


Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence positive safety behaviors.

  • Highly organized and detailoriented.

  • Flexible availability including occasional weekend work and travel to other locations.

  • Selfstarter who works well independently and within a team.

  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities to support safety goals.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel Outlook).

  • Certifications such as OSHA 10/30 First Aid CPR or other safety credentials are a plus.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior experience in an occupational health and safety role.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.


Working Conditions:

  • Primarily an indoor role with occasional outdoor work required for inspections.

  • Must be physically able to climb ladders bend kneel twist and lift up to 30 lbs as needed to perform site inspections.
