The Supervisor Mental Wellness Special Projects oversees the CommunityBased Addiction Program Health Promotion Program and Intake and Systems Coordination. This role ensures the effective delivery of harm reduction addiction services health promotion mental health systems navigation and program intake.
The CommunityBased Addiction Program offers culturally informed wellness and substance use treatment through a phased approach that is focused on engagement stabilization skillbuilding and transition. The Health Promotion Program supports mental wellness and harm reduction with a current focus on tobacco and gaming and gambling the Supervisor is responsible for expanding these efforts into broader mental wellness initiatives.
Additionally the Supervisor oversees Intake and Systems Coordination ensuring seamless client intake and scheduling support along with community engagement partnerships and capacitybuilding initiatives to enhance service delivery and program impact.
As a people leader the Supervisor is responsible for hiring coaching and performance management fostering a collaborative and culturally responsive work environment. The ideal candidate brings extensive knowledge and experience in harm reduction addiction services health promotion and systems navigation.
What you will be doing
- Provide direct supervision to staff offering coaching training and performance management.
- Ensure staff adhere to harm reduction and health promotion principles and deliver culturally competent clientcentered services.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations corrective performance plans and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Support staff in integrating Mtis cultural practices and values into program delivery.
- Oversee the CommunityBased Addiction Program a phased model emphasizing engagement stabilization skillbuilding and transition.
- Provide oversight for Systems Coordination supporting the development of system navigation partnerships and participating in relevant committees.
- Supervise the Health Promotion Program ensuring Tobacco Strategy Mental Wellness and Gaming and Gambling initiatives align with harm reduction and public health best practices.
- Oversee Mental Health and Addiction Program Intake ensuring seamless client intake and scheduling support.
- Ensure services align with program goals funding agreements and reporting requirements.
- Maintain data collection reporting and program evaluation to ensure continuous improvement
- Maintain a strong focus on harm reduction by ensuring all programs support client safety and minimize risks associated with substance use while staying informed on best practices in harm reduction clinical addictions and mental health care to integrate them into program services and staff training.
- Build and maintain relationships with external service providers community resources and Mtis cultural experts.
- Engage with the Mtis community to ensure programs are culturally informed and reflect the needs and values of the population served.
- Represent the MNO in meetings with funders government representatives and other stakeholders.
- Provide appropriate oversight as required by relevant legislation including the Employment Standards Act Occupational Health and Safety Act Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIB) Ontario Human Rights Code AODA etc.

Qualifications
- Postsecondary degree in Social Work Psychology Mental Health Clinical Addictions Public Health or a related field.
- Certification in Harm Reduction Clinical Addictions or Systems Navigation are assets.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention and Mental Health First Aid Certifications are assets.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of harm reduction principles addictions counseling mental health services and systems navigation.
- Proficiency in case management approaches including Critical Time Intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients staff and community partners.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Mtisspecific and broader indigenous key challenges and programs and services available to address them
- Completion of a leadership development program or course
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical and supervisory role within addiction harm reduction health promotion or systems navigation services.
- Demonstrated experience in managing communitybased programs focused on substance use mental health or harm reduction.
- Experience integrating cultural practices and values into service delivery preferably within Indigenous or Mtis communities.
- Experience in leading teams mentoring staff and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Preferred
- Experience in recruitment training discipline and termination
- Experience in conflict resolution
