Job Description
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a skilled and dynamic Finance Analytics Principal to join our corporate finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis Excel and Power BI and be comfortable translating complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. This individual will play a key role in supporting datadriven decisionmaking ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and providing strategic recommendations based on data analysis. This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Reston VA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Data Analysis: Coordinate analysis of financial data identifying trends patterns and areas for improvement. Drive development and monitoring of action plans to improve the business from data insights.
- Reporting and Dashboards: Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to provide senior leadership with realtime insights into financial performance.
- Excel Expertise: Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial modeling budgeting forecasting and indepth data analysis.
- Presentation to Leadership: Present complex data findings clearly and concisely to higher leadership teams offering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with crossfunctional teams to gather data understand business needs and provide analytical support.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and suggest improvements to existing financial reporting processes leveraging technology and best practices to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial reporting systems.
- Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Be comfortable asking probing questions challenging assumptions and offering datadriven solutions to complex problems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics Business Analytics or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in finance or data analytics with a focus on financial analysis and reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (including VBA pivot tables advanced formulas).
- Strong experience in Power BI (reporting dashboard creation data modeling).
- Proven ability to present data and insights to senior leadership and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Comfortable asking questions seeking clarification and ensuring data aligns with business needs.
- US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a related field (Finance Data Science etc..
- Experience with Deltek CostPoint and/or Cognos systems.
- Knowledge of SQL ETL tools and data visualization tools.
