We are seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team in Sioux Falls SD. In this role you will provide comprehensive payroll operations and benefits administration for our entire TAK workforce ensuring precision compliance and operational excellence across multiple platforms. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our compensation and benefits systems while providing strategic guidance on payroll and benefits policy compliance.


** This is a hybrid role that begins with fulltime training in the Sioux Falls office for several weeks. After training you will transition to a predetermined schedule splitting your time between the office and your home workspace each week.**

The Role

  • Administer endtoend payroll processing via Paylocity and proprietary systems
  • Manage complex compensation structures including piece work calculations and prevailing wage requirements
  • Process weekly biweekly and special payrolls while maintaining strict deadlines and accuracy standards
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of multistate payroll policies and procedures
  • Calculate retroactive payments and adjustments as needed
  • Serve as primary point of contact for payrollrelated inquiries from employees and management
  • Provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures to staff and department heads
  • Partner with HR team on compensationrelated projects and initiatives
  • Participate in the fullcycle benefits administration including open enrollment new hire enrollment and qualifying life events
  • Process benefit enrollments changes and terminations in HRIS systems
  • Reconcile monthly carrier invoices and resolve discrepancies
  • Conduct benefits orientation sessions for new employees
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and benefit information
  • Generate various payroll and benefit reports
Requirements
  • 3 years payroll and benefits administration experience required
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification a plus
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources or equivalent a plus
  • Experience processing multistate payroll preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Experience with HRIS systems and time/attendance platforms
  • Excellent problemsolving and communication skills
  • Must provide a valid governmentissued photo ID for verification; a drivers license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all preemployment requirements (MVR Background Check Drug Screen)
