You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are assisting a Houston based mid size commercial general contractor with the hiring of a Commercial Estimator. This firm is a multidisciplinary construction company that is focused on building quality longterm relationships while building quality longterm projects.
Job Description: The Commercial Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers architects engineers and clients to ensure project budgets are aligned with expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans specifications and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates
Collaborate with architects engineers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimating
Develop and maintain cost databases and historical data for reference in future estimates
Prepare quantity takeoffs and apply unit pricing for material labor and equipment
Evaluate subcontractor bids and ensure accurate cost projections
Assist in the development of value engineering proposals to provide costeffective solutions
Prepare bid proposals and participate in prebid and bid review meetings
Maintain clear and organized documentation throughout the estimating process
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
3 years of experience as a construction estimator preferably in commercial projects
Strong understanding of construction methods materials and building codes
Proficient in estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam ProEst or similar)
Excellent mathematical analytical and problemsolving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
