Position Summary: Responsible for supporting project managers and clients by reviewing bid documents and preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates. An estimator will be responsible to ensure that a bid is done on-time and is per the plans and specifications.
Essential Functions - Perform take offs of various electrical system including low voltage and instrumentation and controls.
- Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Review all drawing disciplines: architectural mechanical and structural to ensure complete scope is captured
- Develop request for quotes and reviewing quotes for adherence to specifications.
- Develop and foster relationships with subcontractors and material suppliers.
- Maintain drawing and estimate files within company software system.
- Support other functions for clients including change order management RFI management and submittal management
- May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost engineering quality and/or availability of materials
- Review estimating with management team.
- Develop scope letter detailing inclusions exclusions and clarifications.
- Interface with clients including attending post bid meetings.
- Perform additional assignments per managers direction.
- Taking job specific training as necessary.
- May create maintain and upgrade the company estimating system database (units and prices) and assemblies.
- Communicate and partner with team and client to ensure a high-quality estimate is delivered on time.

Essential Skills - Experience on commercial projects
- Experience with industrial projects including electric vehicle chargers and water treatment facilities

Minimum Requirements - High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors in engineering Construction Management preferred
- Basic electrical and National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge
- At least 5 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial/industrial/high tech industry
- Skilled in Accubid
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Valid drivers license with a good driving record
- Able to work in the U.S.
