Job Description

We are looking for a friendly and organized Physician Practice Management Clerk (PPMC) to join our team! As a PPMC you will be responsible for managing patient access services including verifying insurance eligibility scheduling appointments and checking in patients. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all billing information is accurate and providing excellent customer service. Your excellent organizational and communication skills will be key to succeeding in this role. Job Purpose

Responsibilities of this job include outpatient scheduling and registration for all outpatientand ancillary departments. Responsible for switchboard operations petty cash mail distribution. Responsible for the organization and management of the Admissions office its records files and necessary systems. Responsible for obtaining and verifying all authorizations for scheduled outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years prior experience in a Hospital/Physician Office as aClerk Scheduler MA or NA
  • Experience in a related outpatient position is preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance Medicare and Medicaid practices
  • PC and keyboard skills required
  • Accurate clerical skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills necessary
  • Ability to work with diverse groups including; physicians nurses therapists patients and families.

It is the employees responsibility to know the requirements for certification limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.
