As a Cloud Engineer you will be working closely with platform engineering team to design build and maintain cloud platforms. You will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our cloud operations for the cloud platforms and services. If youre passionate about cuttingedge technologies cloudnative solutions and driving innovation this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of digital banking.You will modernize both development practices and tools for the existing and new platform products. You have proven record of automating complex systems based on cloud resources and have strong experience in implementing highly available solutions. You will enhance the teams development process and automated testing practices.When required you are expected to be a part of afterhours project deployments in the evenings or weekends.

Is this role right for youIn this role you will:

  • Participating in design discussions focused on scalability design and implementation best practices.

  • Ensuring software programs and applications are developed and/or configured to meet high availability integrity and reliability requirements.

  • Participating in planning retrospective sessions attending standups etc.

  • Supporting application teams on the use of cloud platform including providing guidance on design patterns best practices and security considerations.

  • Level 3 support responsibilities are required.

  • Design and manage Cloud Services Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) & Platform as a Service (PaaS)

  • You thrive on the detailed design & deployment of cloud services; the same in the design & implementation of automated delivery pipelines for the cloud services.

  • You can work with engineers and architects on breakingdown scoping and estimating tasks.

  • You are proficient in providing Level 3 support for developed Cloud Services.

  • You can develop & document operational procedures for service operations teams.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this roleWed love to work with you if you have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud software or other related engineering roles with Google Cloud Platform

  • Proven experience in cloud development in Google GCP. Microsoft Azure is a benefit.

  • 3 year in Compute (Linux Virtual Machines Disks VM Manager GCVE) Databases (Cloud SQL AlloyDB)

  • Networking (Virtual Private Cloud Anthos Service Mesh Cloud DNS Cloud Load Balancing Cloud NAT Cloud Router CrossCloud Interconnect Network Telemetry VPC Service Controls)

  • Storage Services (Persistent Disks Backup and DR Service Cloud Storage)

  • Data Analytics (BigQuery Cloud Billing)

  • Containerization (Docker Google Kubernetes Engine)

  • 1 years of experience with development languages (Go Python etc.

  • You have 3 years of handson technical working experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) delivery pipelines e.g. HashiCorps Terraform.

  • You have 3 years of handson technical working experience of using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Tools (e.g. Git plus Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins and/or GitHub Enterprise etc. for the purposes of maintaining pipelines.

  • You have 1 years of handson technical working experience in the use of Configuration Management & Automation tools (e.g. Saltstack Perforces Puppet and/or Red Hat Ansible and/or Progress Chef).

  • You have 5 years of handson technical working experience with Bash and/or Powershell to develop automation & deployment utilities.

  • Enthusiasm for cloud transformation and cloud platform/components/services development.

  • Selfsufficient works under the supervision of a more senior engineer.

  • Strong communication skills both written and spoken; of specific importance the strong communication to a technical audience.

  • Attention to details high standards for quality.

  • Writing and maintaining related documentation.

  • Experience within Canadian financial institutions a benefit.

  • Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field (masters degree preferred).
