They may set the targets themselves or receive them from the salesdirector. They may also operate incentive schemes that motivate members oftheir team to reach or exceed sales targets.
Tech Sales managers will usually be responsible for:
recruiting andtraining tech sales staff;
supervisingmotivating and monitoring team performance;
allocating areas to Techsales Engineer;
settingbudgets/targets;
liaising with otherline managers;
reporting back tosenior managers;
liaising withcustomers (which may include actual selling);
maintaining detailedknowledge of the companys products or services;
keeping abreast ofwhat competitors are doing.
Tech sales managersmay also be involved with product development identification of new businessopportunities and the development of marketing strategies.

Experience Requirements:
Bachelorsdegree/Diploma in Electrical Engineeringor Electronics and Communication or Instrumentation or BSc Electronics.
5 10 Years salesexperience in Electronic components
Distribution experiencepreferred
Must have excellentwritten and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
Requires a selfstarterwho has the ability to prioritize multitask and deal with pressure
Time managementorganization and customer service skills
Excellent presentationdesign and delivery skills as well as ability to drive programs and manageprojects
Ability to sellnegotiate persuade and influence.
Demonstrated ability tobuild relationships at all levels of customer and supplier
