Being a Instructional Support Specialist at Devereux has its Advantages
You will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. This position will support teachers direction by providing assistance with academic social and behavioral needs of assigned clients. You will assist in the implementation of a basic educational programming and performing duties as directed by the building administrator or classroom teacher inclusive of individual tutoring or oneonone support for a student with special needs.
Shift: MondayFriday 8am4pm 52 week year round position)
Every day as an Instructional Support Specialist you will:
- Ensuring the health and safety of youth in the school
- Provide assistance with academic social and behavioral needs.
- Support the teacher and administrations direction while supporting youth and reporting progress daily.

The Mapleton School located in Malvern PA offers education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. A multisensory educational strategy is used at all schools employing traditional instruction handson and independent learning as well as technology to individualize a students progress in all academic areas particularly math and reading. The transition from school to career and all of the necessary interrelated skills are a main focus of the school program. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student or as a part of residential treatment. Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or completion of two years of postsecondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
