For our location inJohannesburg (Lanseria)we are looking for a

Service Technician Inhouse Repairs and Remote Service Desk (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • Provide first level technical assistance to clients
  • Prequalifying a problem and escalating it to 2ndlevel support if necessary
  • Perform technical error analysis and corrective action via remote access or via phone
  • Carry out installations and upgrades of software via remote access
  • Use of augmented reality (AR) technology where applicable
  • Creating a service report and recordings of the service assignments in the ticketing system
  • Providing remote assistance for the onsite Service Technicians with device installation commissioning and technical queries.
  • Providing technical support for Key Account clients as required
  • Providing onsite repairs installations offsite troubleshooting and support
  • Providing preventative maintenance and repair of equipment (foodprocessing retail & industrial scales weigh price labeling and inspection systems as required)
  • Responsibility for the spare parts inventory in the service department
  • Proactive sales of our service products and services

Your qualifications

  • Associated degree or equivalent training as a Communications Technician IT specialist in the fields of Electronics/Electrical Engineering
  • Experience as a Technical Customer Service Agent
  • Experience in repair and installation of PC based devices or processor controlled equipment in our case; weigh price labelling inspection systems and industrial scales
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems and network technology
  • Sound knowledge of electronics and basic knowledge of mechanics
  • Capable of reading wiring diagrams schematics and spare part break downs
  • Familiar with TCP/IP based connections and other system bus protocols
  • Confident appearance ability to work under pressure initiative and organizational skills
  • Reliability and professional dealings with customers
  • Eager for continuous further training and education after comprehensive onboarding
  • Customer focused and self motivated
  • Good analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • NRCS verification officer/repairer (nice to have)
