Senior Product Privacy Counsel

SpyCloud is seeking a Product & Privacy Counsel to join our growing Legal team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with global privacy laws while supporting product development commercial transactions and corporate initiatives. The ideal candidate is a privacyfocused legal professional with a strong understanding of data protection regulations cybersecurity and product counseling. Reporting to the General Counsel this individual will work crossfunctionally with product engineering compliance and sales teams to drive privacy initiatives and mitigate legal risks.

What Youll Do:

• Provide strategic legal guidance on privacy laws (e.g. GDPR CCPA and other global data protection regulations) and best practices to internal stakeholders.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to assess the privacy impact of new product features and ensure privacybydesign principles are embedded in product development.
• Work closely with commercial counsel to advise on privacyrelated contractual obligations for customer and partner agreements.
• Support the compliance team on developing incident response strategies and creating privacy training materials for internal teams.
• Assist the General Counsel with responding to regulatory inquiries and data subject access requests and developing privacy policies.
• Collaborate with SpyClouds governance committees to enhance SpyClouds data governance framework.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active state bar membership.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in privacy counseling preferably in a technology or cybersecurity company.
• Deep knowledge of global privacy regulations including GDPR CCPA and emerging privacy laws.
• Experience working with product and engineering teams to integrate privacy and security into product development.
• Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to balance legal risks with business needs.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex legal concepts into actionable feedback for business teams.

Nice to Have

• IAPP certification (e.g. CIPP/E CIPP/US)
• Knowledge of AI machine learning or data analytics from a legal and compliance perspective.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as NIST ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
