1About the position:
The Senior Subsea Pipeline Engineer is part of the Subsea Civil and Marine Engineering Team within the Chevron ENGINE Center. This role supports Chevrons Upstream Major Capital Projects and Base Business includes crucial tasks such as overseeing subsea pipeline design drafting and reviewing design reports technical specifications and procedures and preparing cost and schedule forecasts. It also involves performing design assurance and providing consulting services from concept selection to project . This role ensures seamless interfaces strong quality management comprehensive integrity and conditioning management and efficient and safe pipeline and operations.
Key responsibilities:
Provides advanced design verification support for Chevron projects worldwide assisting with pipeline concept development detailed design procurements fabrication qualification testing installation precommissioning and creating integrity management plans to ensure reliable pipeline systems.
Support and managing bidding processes evaluating contractor proposals assessing their technical capabilities and supervising their when necessary.
Leads preFEED and FEED pipeline efforts and conducting both regular and advanced analyses covering shallow and deepwater scenarios including pipeline systems designed for high pressure/temperature oil large gas and export functions.
Engagement with regulators to demonstrate compliance with local standards is also essential.
Maintaining and updating Chevron CES pipelinerelated specifications consolidating lessons learned participating in root cause analysis and mentoring junior engineers.
Promotes innovation technology development and deployment and continuous improvement in pipeline engineering. It requires engaging in crossdisciplinary collaboration participating in industry technical bodies and influencing industry standards and best practices.
Supports risk evaluations implementing mitigation strategies and fostering a culture focused on safety reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
MS (or equivalent) in mechanical or subsea engineering
Ability to obtain medical and security clearances to travel internationally to offshore Company facilities and work on contractor offshore vessels
Proven track record of successfully managing and executing subsea pipelines design installation and precommissioning projects.
Experience in leading advanced and complex analyses for deepwater and high pressure and high temperature pipelines to improve predictions and simplify mitigation methods
Preferred Qualifications:
10 yrs relevant industry experience in the design engineering manufacture and operation of subsea pipelines and associated equipment
Demonstrated indepth knowledge of industry codes and standards along with lessons learned and best practices to the work related to subsea pipelines and flowlines.
Demonstrated familiarity and use of relevant subsea pipeline software that includes Orcaflex Offpipe DnV and relevant engineering programs.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Finite Element Analyses and either ANSYS or ABAQUS programs applied to pipeline engineering.
Led development of new and technologies able to identify the risks in their potential applications developed the appropriate risk management strategies and participated in the commercialization and deployment processes.
Proven leadership experience in offshore pipeline engineering process.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
