  • MPS Summer Program Dean of Student Services

    Job Goal: To be responsible for duties focusing on student discipline matters following established Board of Education policies and procedures.

    Summer Compensation: $175 Daily Rate

    Schedule: July 717 and July 2131 (MondayThursday)

    Locations: Arborwood North and Monroe High School

    Reports to: Summer Building Administrator and Summer Program Director

    Qualifications:

    1. An associates degree or equivalent college coursework is required.
    2. A bachelors degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
    3. At least three 3 years of experience in an educational setting teaching experience or other significant experience with youth.
    4. Demonstrated and verifiable record of excellent positive and productive relationships with administrators teachers parents students auxiliary staff and the community at large.

    Skills:

    1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    2. Excellent interpersonal skills.
    3. Competent in technology.

    Performance Responsibilities:

    1. Student Discipline
      1. Supervise the conduct of students in all areas within the school and on school buses.
      2. Handle disposition of students following policies and guidelines of Monroe Public Schools.
    2. Apprise Executive Director of Elementary Student Services and principal or assistant principal of all conduct believed to require:
      1. Police contact including School Resource Officer.
      2. Suspension(s) in excess of four 4 days.
    3. Enter and/or delegate entry of disciplinary actions into the computer database maintaining an uptodate ongoing and progressive record of student disciplinary actions.
    4. Serve as a school liaison with the court probation officers attendance officers and the School Resource Officer.
    5. Support staff with disciplinary matters when they have initiated appropriate progressive disciplinary action on their own.
    6. Use video camera monitoring to assist in establishing charges of vandalism disciplinary behaviors and other incidents that may occur in the building.
    7. Assist in updating discipline guidelines for students and staff.
    8. Performs other duties as may be delegated by the Executive Director of Elementary Student Services.
