ROLE OUTLINE:
The role of the Client Manager is to be a key point of contact for our clients and to support the development of strong communication recommendations across all channels paid owned and earned. Responsible for supporting a successful client relationship. Bringing together the right people to deliver the highest quality of outputs for your client end to end ensuring deliverables are grounded in client priorities.
Reporting of the role: Client Director
KEY STAKEHOLDERS:
Internal Departments: Collaborate closely with your client team including strategy leads and other agency and group departments to manage expectations and collectively deliver the strongest outcomes for clients.
Clients: Establish a deep understanding of our clients business and develop strong relationships with key client contacts.
Client Team: Contribute to great teamwork with a supportive and positive cando attitude.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
People
- Openly communicate and collaborate with all internal key stakeholders and reports regularly
- Has expert knowledge and understanding of the wider agency structure knowing when to tap into resource to enhance work.
- Plays a supporting role in the internal client team WIP and is across the detail of current campaigns and future plans
Clients
- Establish a deep understanding of client challenges objectives & initiatives.
- Build on the agencys reputation for outstanding client service.
- Build strong and enduring client relationships.
- Provide insights by acting as an expert on the clients business industry and competitors
- A complete strategic view of the client business e.g. market share purchase barriers key competitors drivers tasks
- Works alongside the client and agency partners to provide bestcase outcomes using the agency resources effectively
- Use language which aligns with the clients business and understanding to ensure there is comprehension of the solution across the business
- Clear understanding of the inscope services of the client and the process for completing work above and beyond.
- Full view of the process of how the client works to get projects signed off and what is required
Product
- Engage with internal product teams including GroupM proprietary product and service teams to ensure you have an understanding about their offerings and relevance to our clients.
- Good knowledge of media planning principles (e.g. scheduling flighting recency effective reach theories seasonality market prioritisation roles of all communication channels) and ability to utilise agency and industry tools to enhance and support planned recommendation.
- Demonstrates an obsession for Provocative Planning and how it benefits our clients
- Full understanding and comprehension of the client brief and ability to discuss it internally with the broader client team.
- Leverage industry and agency suite of tools to aid planning including the development of target audience brand growth priorities insights role of channel and channel priorities.
- Always seek to raise the benchmark for the quality of the product going to your client
- Brings innovation and creativity to the table leveraging insights from across the market.
- Seek to find communicate and implement improvements in all aspects of the role.
- Deliver a wellinformed POV in every meeting
Growth & Marketing
- Be a positive face of Wavemaker at industry events.
- Collaborate closely with your Manager to identify collate and showcase examples of great work from within the team both internally and externally.
- Build the agencys reputation by contributing to entries for awards and competitions
- Contribute to thought leadership across the agencys owned assets (Website Social EDMs etc.
- Share relevant and insightful commentary internally for the broader agency.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Highly collaborative
- Passion for media and marketing
- Up to date media landscape knowledge (able to articulate consumer trends and what they mean for clients).
- Great communicator with clear written and verbal communication skills
- Good problemsolving skills with the patience to examine detail and create solutions.
- Results Driven. Passionate about delivering business results for clients with the ability to identify and clearly articulate whats working and why.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
In 3 months:
- Established collaborative relationships with all key stakeholders and internal reports.
- A strong understanding of and can clearly articulate the agency and group proposition core client processes and our way of working.
- Immersed yourself in the team with an understanding of the status of all active and upcoming campaigns.
In 6 months:
- Demonstrated your ability to deliver on all aspects of the role in an efficient effective and proactive way.
- Strengthened your key stakeholder relationships to deliver great team work consistently.
In 12 months:
- Taking on greater ownership of the role responsibility and volume.
- Building strong relationships with clients representing the Wavemaker team appropriately and ensuring that campaigns are delivered to the highest quality
- Elevating your impact and influence within the business with demonstrable benefits for the agency and our clients.
