- Provide medical or therapeutic care direct and indirect diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients following the instructions of physicians or other health practitioners.
- Coordinate the work and activities of assigned staff including setting performance expectations in the daytoday operations of the unit.
- Provide guidance and direction to staff and encourage/build mutual trust respect and cooperation among team members.
- Assist patients with their daily living activities and administer basic health care or treatments.
- Participate in therapeutic or recreational group.
- Oversee admitting and discharging.
- Monitor physical and emotional wellbeing of patients and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff. Prepare and maintain records of progress and services performed.
- Observe and influence the behavior of the patients by communicating interacting with them teaching and counseling.
- Encourage patients to participate in social recreational or other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills or develop social relationships and teach strategies to promote patient wellness and independence.
- Lead or colead individual or group sessions as part of specific recreational or therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborate with other staff in working with the population of the facility to treat rehabilitate and return patients to the community.
- May provide transportation for patients as needed.
- Demonstrate a positive empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates or Bachelors degree in human service field from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Two or more years experience with the population of the facility in a patient support role required.
- One or more years experience as a lead or previous supervisory experience required.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- CPR and deescalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
- May require a valid state drivers in facilities where transporting patients is an essential function.
ADDITIONAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 21 years of age. For Resource Treatment Facility a bachelors degree in a human service field; Associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience; High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of related experience. Must have and maintain a valid Indiana drivers license and maintain automobile insurance coverage.
