Salary range: $97000 to $121000 per year

Primary Focus

The Lead Precision Medicine is primarily responsible for leading a program of work focused on precision medicine and supporting collaboration across crossfunctional teams in support of our precision medicine strategy. The Lead is also accountable for ensuring that project deliverables are produced and delivered in line with established methods processes and quality standards to meet customer expectations and needs. The Lead should be strategic innovative and forwardthinking with the ability to identify and implement effective activities and process improvements that proactively drive forward organizational and departmental objectives.

What do the daily responsibilities look like

On any given day the Lead Precision Medicine will:

  • provide strategic direction and lead in the identification development and improvement of activities processes and procedures to ensure work and initiatives related to precision medicine deliver the greatest value following best practices for evidence synthesis and the delivery of testing procedure assessments or other evidencebased analyses as required
  • provide expertise and contribute to crossfunctional projects led by the testing procedure assessment team and ensure alignment with other relevant work across the organization (e.g. for rare disease newborn screening)
  • as required in the role of Project Owner be accountable for the delivery of highquality testing procedure assessments which includes working with the Manager Clinical Research to resource project teams ensure timelines are met (with support of project managers and team members) and coordinate project activities review and report on project status and progress and sign off on project deliverables
  • author testing procedure assessments and other evidence syntheses as required
  • collaborate with external content and methods experts health care agencies as well as across the organization to promote delivery uptake and impact of deliverables.

Is this the right role for you

The Lead Precision Medicine will likely have:

  • a graduate degree in a healthrelated discipline (e.g. epidemiology health technology assessment public health or related disciplines) although a PhD is preferred plus at least 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in the health sector or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • a broad knowledge and experience in research methods used in the development and application of health technology assessments
  • expertise in conducting systematic reviews metaanalyses or health technology assessments
  • an understanding of basic concepts of health economics and the main types of economic analyses
  • a demonstrated expertise in data visualization and knowledge mobilization strategies to best maximize the uptake and impact of evidencebased information in the health sector in Canada
  • knowledge of provincial territorial and federal health procedures related to the approval procurement and adoption of health technologies
  • strategic planning skills to contribute to the development of strategic and operational plans as well as the ability to function at the operational management and strategic levels
  • strong organizational and project management skills to manage concurrent projects ensuring goals and deadlines are met and quality levels are maintained
  • the ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of interested partners and understand their diverse interests and agendas
  • strong interpersonal and communication writing presentation negotiation facilitation and organizational skills
  • the ability to independently problem solve and determine the best course of action using research logic and evaluative judgment
  • flexibility and adaptability within the working environment and capable of managing multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
  • team orientation with the flexibility and versatility to operate in a collaborative multidisciplinary work environment
  • proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
  • strategic insight strong analytical skills and demonstrable experience solving complex problems by being proactive and wellorganized
  • internal and external relationship management skills and an ability to interact effectively with colleagues and interested parties at the provincial and/or national level.
