General Overview/Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst (Reporting Coordinator) reports directly to the Application Manager in the department of Partners eCare (PeC) Reporting and serves as the business liaison between Partners eCare and Information Systems and outside Third Party agencies. Under the general direction and leadership of the Application Manager the Business Intelligence Analyst (Reporting Coordinator) supports tickets and works with end users to assess reporting data needs. This individual will be responsible for gathering business requirements (including specification documentation) following requests through the development life cycle and working with PeC Business Intelligence Developers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requests that meet the needs of requestors. They will also be responsible for coordinating reports extracts cubes universes SlicerDicer development and testing between PeC Business Intelligence developers and various entities and providing ongoing support for all PeC reporting data requests and projects as required.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Analyzes various entities reporting needs and business practices and translates them into IT solutions that utilize EPIC reporting tools and capabilities.
Develops subject matter expertise and maintains models and documentation of business and system requirements. Works with technical staff to design/develop analytical data models and data movement processes based on user and system requirements.
Manages projects as it relates to the design development or improvement of reporting products and services to support the Partners user community through the use of clinical and billing data acquisition and/or usage through Partners eCare projects and Epic application and services.
Works with project teams and management to identify and document benefits costs and risks associated with solution alternatives while balancing stakeholder expectations regarding project timeline cost and scope.
Manages and assists Application Reporting Leads as they configure Radar reporting homepages or dashboards. Facilitates discussions and setting strategy for user security for Radar
Manages and tracks Reporting Workbench templates including creating or authorizing the creation of any new templates
Manages the design and build of Reporting Workbench reports for Application Reporting teams and answers team questions related to the build.
Facilitates user security and access discussions regarding Reporting Workbench and builds more complex reports as needed.
Establish and enforce processes including requests triage prioritization testing publishing and validating data requests
Facilitates application reporting systems and Cogito Infrastructure team communication to close gaps
Maintains the centralized reports Extracts Universe cubesinventory and request tracker. Measures ongoing success of analytics after golive and makes necessary adjustments
Works with the Business Intelligence Development leads and Cogito Infrastructure group in setting overall build security and data segregation strategies
Decides which reporting tools to use as new data needs arise including but not limited to: Clarity reports; Business Intelligence Tools (Universes Cubes); Cogito Data Warehouse; Extract Framework: Metric Framework/Benchmarking; Radar; Registry Framework and Data Marts; Reporting Workbench; SlicerDicer.
Works closely with the Business Intelligence Development Lead to allocate support tickets to the appropriate reporting application coordinators and Business Intelligence Developer for reports extracts and universe modification.
May lead crossfunctional linked project teams to address reporting or systems issues. Responds to pages and resolves and closes the tickets in a timely manner consistent with the Partners eCare Support policies.
Works with the Application Manager Business Intelligence Development Lead and the Project Director of PeC Reporting in developing policies and procedures for standardization of operational processes to ensure workflow efficiency is obtained and maximized. Collaborates with leadership on the adoption and implementation of new methods and technologies.
Coordinates with training team to ensure enduser comfort and happiness with data and tools. Assists with development of training materials and procedures as well as end user documentation on final product.
Reviews upgrade documentation related to analytics tools and content. Determines how to implement disseminate and train on the changes
Prepares and provides worksite orientation to new employees as assigned.
Perform other duties as required.

Bachelors Degree in Business IT Healthcare or related required. Masters degree a plus.
Minimum of 5 years related experience including experience with data analysis project management and reporting preferably in healthcare setting.
Experience with and deep understanding of:
o Data and standard coding systems
o Service oriented architecture
o Data analysis and data warehousing
o Applying project workflows to the design of information systems.
Must have experience in developing and integrating business processes.
Demonstrable working knowledge of the following:
o Relational databases SQL analytical tools and SQL programming for the purposes of data and database analysis.
Epic Certification desired or must obtain Epic Certification as outlined by program requirements.

Excellent knowledge of clinical/financial team and project operations and workflow as well as current clinical metadata clinical and research system infrastructure and functionality. Ability to perform functional analysis and requirements gathering to design solutions for the integration of clinical and billing data to support clinical research.
Ability to review project deliverables for completeness quality and compliance with established project standards.
Ability to document and communicate the status of progress against plans taking corrective action as necessary
Understanding of change management techniques and the ability to apply them.



Working Conditions

Requires routine local travel between several Partners Healthcare System sites to meet with departmental teams site leadership teams and PHS IT teams across the Partners enterprise.
Requires primary oncall support coverage on a rotating basis including weeknights and weekends. Carries a pager during this time.
Some travel for training may be required.



Supervisory Responsibility

Provides guidance to less seasoned and new staff.



Fiscal Responsibility


Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively using Partners resources.
