POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to provide Alarm Monitoring and Visitor Control services to the National Defense University (NDU).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and execute site security checks on critical assets restricted areas and communications facilities.
• Conduct security checks of areas identified as highvalue/missioncritical/restricted areas at a minimum every four 4 hours to verify areas are properly secured.
• Report any suspicious activity or issues to the base police or the appropriate staff.
• Monitor Lenel Security system equipment for proper operation.
• Notify Government personnel of any irregularities noted in the Lenel security system.
• Inventory and Monitor badges.
• Provide information and assistance to employees visitors and guests.
• Control issue and maintain an electronic record of visits.
• Verify all personnel entering the facilities by ensuring all personnel present a Badge or identification (i.e. Common Access Card (CAC). Crossreference it with the Lenel Security.
• Issue a temporary visitors badge as required.
• Closedcircuit TV (CCTV) experience required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma Required.
• 23 years security experience.
• 23 years of ClosedCircuit TV (CCTV) experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be proficient with all MS Office Suites.
• Must be proficient with the Lenel System.

Special Requirements:

• Must have an active Secret Clearance
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights Holidays and weekends 7 days per week as needed. This is a Parttime/Oncall position. In most cases there will be scheduled workdays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years of experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged walking is required in order to complete security checks. This includes but is not limited to the use of stairs and walking outdoors when required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Indoors except during rounds
