Masters Degree in Social Work or related human services field and two years experience in human services or child welfare programs. Bachelors Degree in Social Work and four years experience may be substituted.
- Ensures the provision of services in accordance with applicable standards rules and laws:
- Maintains a working knowledge of all legislative and administrative laws and rules related to child safety services.
- Develop monitor and revise forms and processes routinely.
- Provide routine consultation to all staff as needed.
- Ensure the timely facilitation of case conferences and family conferences.
- Ensure the development and implementation of the departments goals and objectives.
- Identifies develops and implements resources for support services for families and children served by the program.
- Provides input into various vouchering systems.
- Explains child safety and other programs to children families and caregiver.
- Learns as much as possible about the culture of individuals served and recognizes the influence his/her own background has on his/her understanding and response to cultural differences when interacting with individuals.
- Explains rights and responsibilities to children family members and caregiver.
- Ensures the delivery of aftercare services for reunified families
2. Assures the accuracy completeness and confidentiality of records:
a) Monitors staff to ensure records are up to date and are complete in accordance with all
State and PSF rules.
b) Ensures entries into Florida Safe Families Network are timely and accurate.
- Staff Monitoring and Development
a) Conducts weekly team meetings.
b) Facilitates recruitment hiring orientation retention evaluation and personnel actions
in coordination with Director of Human Resources.
c) Identifies needs plans and promotes inservice education and training on job related
issues. Provides educational opportunities for staff consistent with departmental
finances. Ensures appropriate records on all training are kept. Monitors provision of
training outlined in departmental staff plan.
d) Ensures time sheets and leave requests are submitted within scheduled time periods.
e) Supervises or ensures the supervision of all assigned staff.
f) Monitors the provision of services and ensures services are delivered in accordance
with JFCS policies.
g) Coordinates the deployment of staff to ensure services are delivered.
- Maintains communication with the Director of Case Management relative to program functioning unusual events problems as well as achievements.
- Administrative:
a) Attends all related community based care meetings.
b) Monitors and evaluates department record in achieving goals for productivity direct
service and compliance with FSSNF standards.
c) Develops and submits monthly quarterly and annual reports as requested.
d) Provides direct service to families through participation in community advisory meetings.
e) Represents JFCS Child Safety Program in interactions with DCF PSF community
organizations and others.
- Performs oncall duties if necessary.
- Reports indications of abuse neglect and/or abandonment to Florida Abuse Hotline.
- Meets regularly with judicial staff to ensure coordination and appears at court hearings as needed.
- Attends trainings in service sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Serves as backup to the Director of Case Management during his/her absence.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Case Management or the Director of Programs.
